Brian Burwell, [a managing partner at Marakon Associates], points out, however, that Marakon does not seek to position itself as industry experts.
"We choose not to organize ourselves around industries, although we have developed a lot of expertise in certain industries. We do not tend to sell industry expertise as a differentiator because we think it can lead to industry solutions." He has observed that some clients believe consultancies with deep industry expertise lead to answers that are too similar to those of other companies in their industry.
