Randy DeGeer

Randy DeGeer recently returned to Marakon and is a member of the firm’s Chicago office. Randy has 17 years of experience helping top management teams develop strategies and drive organizational change at both the business unit and corporate levels.  His industry experience includes metals & mining, chemicals, healthcare, industrial products, defense, retail, consumer foods, and packaging.  He has extensive experience working with both North American and European clients and spent nearly three years working in Marakon’s London office.

Some representative assignments Randy has recently completed include:

  • Assisted a leading global mining company implement a corporate-wide change program to develop the business strategies, align resources and enhance organizational capabilities to drive top-tier shareholder value growth
  • Assisted a global metals and packaging company create a corporate strategy and business unit strategies that better aligns capital with the economics of the value chain
  • Assisted a US consumer food company to identify the sources and drivers of value within the existing franchise network and create strategies that create value for both the company and its franchisees
  • Assisted a diversified engineered products company to develop strategies and reallocate capital to drive profitable growth across its portfolio of businesses

Prior to joining Marakon, Randy worked for Goldman Sachs & Co. in their Real Estate investment banking division where he assisted in the sale and financing of several large office and retail properties.

Randy holds an MBA degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Michigan
