Ken is Chief Talent Officer and a managing partner in the San Francisco office. He joined Marakon in 1992 and has worked extensively in the US and Europe with clients in the pharmaceuticals, retailing, media and financial services industries. He has advised senior executives on issues ranging from corporate strategy and large-scale transformation to customer value growth and the design of decision-making and performance management processes.

Recently, Ken helped a global pharmaceuticals giant tackle a wide variety of issues, including R&D productivity, product market strategies, corporate planning and budgeting, alliance management and corporate strategy. One project focused on developing a growth strategy for a specific brand through an in-depth understanding of customer behaviors. The approach used greater insights into customer preferences, behaviors, and attitudes to change the level and mix of marketing investments to optimize share gains and grow the overall market.

Ken previously helped establish the firm’s San Francisco office. In addition, he has leadership roles in practice development primarily focused on the application of the firm’s offer to healthcare clients. In this capacity, he has co-authored a number of articles focused on innovation and marketing effectiveness in the pharmaceutical industry. Outside of Marakon, Ken is a member of Duke University’s Health Sector Advisory Council.

Prior to joining the firm, Ken worked at Metropolitan Life in New York City, where he developed and implemented quantitative investment strategies.
