Brian joined the firm in 1979 – a year after its founding – and has more than 25 years of experience working with senior executives at some of the world’s leading companies. He has advised clients on issues ranging from business unit and corporate strategy to large-scale transformation. His experience has spanned six continents and numerous industries, including retail, distribution, consumer products, financial services and pharmaceuticals.
Recently, he worked with a global pharmaceutical company to help the top managers set new ambitions for performance, develop their corporate strategy, shift their corporate portfolio, define a new role for the executive committee and sharpen their focus on value creation companywide. He is currently leading engagements with the company to establish a 10-year strategic direction and to embed significantly improved levels of cost and asset productivity. This client has moved from the fourth to the first quartile in shareholder returns relative to peers since working with Marakon.
Outside of work, Brian is a member of the Dry Creek Valley Winegrowers Association in California and is heavily involved in youth sports and charitable organizations.
Prior to arriving at Marakon, Brian was a research manager with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and an economist with a research group at the University of California.
