marakon in the community

At Marakon, we take great pride in the fact that over 90% of our employees get involved with a community service initiative or pro bono project. In recent years, our worldwide consultants and staff have dedicated thousands of hours annually to volunteering, and participation is strongly encouraged.

Some of our larger pro bono projects in recent years have included work with the National Museum of Science and Industry in London, the Stanford University Alumni Association in Palo Alto, the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago and Battery Dance Company in New York. More on our community involvement in each region can be found below:

  • Chicago
The Chicago office regularly participates in community service with organizations such as the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Tax Assistance Program, and Chicago Cares. We also have a long-standing pro-bono relationship with the Kellogg School of Management, where we have helped to develop strategies for remaining competitive in full-time MBA and executive education markets. Through this relationship we have had an opportunity to work with many of the school’s professors, sharing research, developing case studies and tapping each other’s networks in the business community.
  • London
Our London office undertakes pro bono work in two ways: First, we support and encourage individuals through our ‘Marakon in the Community’ program, including pupil mentoring, development placements and renovation projects. Second, we staff teams to help not-for-profit organizations like the National Science Museum and Dyslexia Institute. In addition, since March 2006, we have offset the carbon dioxide produced during our consultants' flights by contributing to renewable energy, energy efficiency and forest restoration projects around the world through the UK-based non-profit Climate Care.
  • New York
Recent volunteer and pro bono work has included efforts on behalf of Habitat for Humanity, The Special Olympics, Battery Park Dance Company, Junior Achievement, Central Park Conservancy and All Soul’s Soup Kitchen.
