client work

Every client experience is different. In general, projects are carried out in teams of four to six people, with each member of the team having a specific and equally important role to play. Engagements can last from six weeks to six months or longer, with multiple phases and objectives. Here’s a representative example:

Objective

To find the best way for a large multinational pharmaceuticals company to increase the value and attractiveness of its participation in the primary care market (i.e., prescription products sold through general practitioners).

The project consisted of four phases

  • Fact base
A two-month assessment of the current strategy, product and portfolio economics and market attractiveness
  • Alternatives Generation
A two-month phase designed to come up with a long list of potential strategic alternatives for the business
  • Alternatives Evaluation
A detailed assessment of the alternatives generated in the previous phase lasting two to three months
  • Action Planning and Implementation
A one-month wrap-up of agreed actions and plans for implementation

Team

A joint team consisting of Marakon and client representatives carried out the project. On the client side, a mix of approximately 10-15 senior executives, marketing representatives and finance people were involved at various stages.
